"As President of the Florida Marlins, everyday I am exposed to some of the world's greatest and most charismatic athletes. But since I have been introduced to the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), the words "hero", "heart" and "hope" have taken on new meaning for me. CAF raises money so that people -- athletes like you and me -- with physical disabilites can get in the game. CAF’s mission is clear: give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to participate in the sports they love.

I will be competing in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships this year, and I am racing for a reason: I want to raise $100,000 for CAF. By making a donation towards my fundraising goal, you will directly help challenged athletes overcome the financial barriers that are keeping them on the sidelines.
